Opening Night 2026
Presented by New Balance and Tuscarora High School XC, Opening Night takes place on Friday, September 4, 2026 at the Morven Park grounds in Leesburg, VA. The event features a spectator friendly cross country course set on manicured grass fields with surrounding wooded landscape and connected loops.
The venue includes onsite music and food options, creating a festival like environment along the course. Spectator access is available in multiple areas so viewers and coaches can observe runners at several points on the course.
Race distances offered include:
- 2 miles Middle School combined boys and girls
- 2 miles Freshman girls only
- 2 miles Freshman boys only
- 5K JV girls and JV boys
- 5K Varsity girls and varsity boys
- 5K Open all comers combined
Awards will be given to the top 10 finishers in every race in the form of custom Opening Night XC medals. Top boys and girls varsity teams will receive custom New Balance backpacks.
Event parking uses the Tutt Lane entrance at 41793 Tutt Lane, Leesburg, VA 20176. Spectator parking is priced at $10 in advance and $15 at the gate. Team billing is capped per gender with two tiers: $250 maximum for 10 to 25 athletes and $350 maximum for 26 or more athletes. Registration is open through Wednesday, September 2, 2026 at 11:59 PM EST. Payments may be submitted online or by check to Trials of Miles Racing.
