Toi's Challenge : Julian's Berry Farm and Cafe
Toi's Challenge is an annual trail event in Whakatāne, New Zealand, held in November and organised by the Whakatane Athletics and Harriers Club. The event follows the Nga Tāpuwae o Toi track along coastal and bush scenery associated with the area’s Māori history.
The principal trail distance is approximately 18.5 km and the route features just under 1000 m of elevation gain, moving over rugged terrain rather than flat pathways. The event includes shorter and alternative formats as listed by the organiser:
- 18 km Julian's Berry Farm and Cafe individual run
- 18 km 1XX walk
- 18 km Julian's Berry Farm and Cafe 2 person team relay (price per runner)
- 6 km Robinson Law course
