Tiree 10k & Half Marathon
The Tiree 10k & Half Marathon is an annual road race held on the Hebridean island of Tiree on 1 May 2027. Race registration and number collection take place at An Talla Community Hall in Crossapol. The event begins and finishes on Sorobaidh Beach.
Both races start together with a clearly marked split just before the 7 km mark. The routes follow the coast to Hynish; the 10 km route returns from Hynish, while the half marathon continues around the west end of the island.
- 10 km route along the coast to Hynish and back.
- Half marathon route to Hynish then around the west end of the island.
Podium prizes, age group awards, team prizes and some spot prizes are presented at an evening prizegiving. An evening dance and ceilidh at An Talla accompanies the prizegiving later that night. All entrants receive a goodie bag at registration and a race memento at the finish; medals are crafted locally rather than mass produced.
The event began in 2006 and attracts visiting runners from several countries, including Slovakia, Spain, Brazil, Canada, Germany and Australia. Entry fees are non refundable once entered and event insurance is offered at sign up. There is a separate Tri Island challenge covering Mull, Coll and Tiree with a special medal and combined time ranking. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
