Tigers Trail
Tigers Trail is a midweek fell and trail race organised by Totley AC that starts from the start of Houndkirk Road above the Fox House pub on Hathersage Road, Sheffield. The course covers approximately 6.2 miles / 10 km with about 850 ft / 259 m of ascent and is marshaled at the major turning points.
Entry is available online or on the night, with a stated fee of £8 for pre-entry and £8 on the night if the race is not full. Facilities at the venue include toilets, food, a bar and parking; limited parking is available in the pub car park and Longshaw car park is suggested as an alternative. Car sharing is encouraged.
Runners must carry the kit required by the Race Organiser, which follows FRA Best Practice when the weather demands: waterproof whole body cover with taped seams and attached hood, hat, gloves, map, compass, whistle and emergency food. Mandatory kit inspections may be performed on race day and competitors without the required kit will not be admitted to the start or may be disqualified. Race numbers must be worn visibly on the chest and must not be folded or cut down; numbers may be recorded at checkpoints.
Dogs are not permitted on the course. Competitors wishing to retire must inform Race Control rather than only a marshal. Prize giving takes place inside the marquee in the pub car and prizes are awarded across specified age categories and top finishers. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
