About the race
Thunder Chicken Squatch Trail Jamboree takes place at Stokes State Forest in Branchville, New Jersey on August 22, 2027. The venue address is 1 Coursen Road, Branchville, NJ 07826.
The event offers multiple trail options and a ruck division:
- 5K
- 10K
- 10K Ruck
- 17 miles
Registration details and standard fees are provided for each option. Typical fees listed are $35 for the 5K, $45 for the 10K and 10K Ruck, $70 for the 17 miler, and a $0 hardship entry option. Registration opens on August 11, 2026 and most regular entry periods close July 31, 2027; the Hardship Entry option accepts requests through August 21, 2027.
The 10K includes an open ruck division where participants choose their carried weight. There are no official awards for the ruck division, but all ruck participants receive a Ruck Patch.
The Hardship Entry is offered for participants facing financial hardship. Those who select it will be contacted to choose their event and to request a full or partial scholarship. Community members can contribute to the Squatch Community Fund to support scholarships.
Active duty military, National Guard, Reserve members, and veterans are offered a 50 percent discount on entries and will be recognized before the race. Course maps and GPX files are available from the organizer. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
