Thetford 24 Hour - Brandon
Thetford 24 Hour is a timed, non-stop running event held at High Lodge Thetford Forest on the Backyard route. Participants may choose 6 hours, 12 hours or 24 hours and may compete solo, as a same-sex or mixed pair, or as a team of up to four runners. Competitors complete as many full laps as they wish within their chosen time limit; only complete laps count.
The route follows the Backyard course and mixes fire roads and forest trails. Organisers provide a basic food tent with hot and cold drinks and snacks, and there are additional food vendors at High Lodge within a short walk. Portable toilets are on site and further toilets are a short walk away. Free camping is available onsite on Saturday night; each runner may bring a small tent and pairs or teams may bring a gazebo. No stoves or fires are permitted on site. There is no mains power on the field so participants should bring powerbanks; charging facilities are available for runners without a crew.
Entries are limited to 150 solo, pair or team entries. Participants must be 18 or older; the event is not suitable for wheelchairs or buggies. Entry fees vary by race and category. Solo entries can add insurance for an extra 15% to cover entry refunds; teams and pairs cannot be insured. Transfers are allowed up to four weeks before the event for a £20 administration fee. Race rules include one runner on course at a time per pair or team, handovers only in the camp or transition area, no supporters on the course, and visible race numbers on the front. Trophies are awarded by category and all finishers receive a bespoke eco wooden medal. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
