The Rut Mountain Runs is a mountain running event held in Big Sky, Montana in September 2026. The 2026 event is sold out and there will be no waitlists; the free 1K Runt Run is still open. The event is presented by The North Face and takes place around Big Sky Resort and the Lone Peak area.

- 50K: 31 Miles / 50 K; 10,500 FT vertical gain/loss
- 28K: 17.6 Miles / 28 K; 7,800 FT vertical gain/loss
- 21K: 13.4 Miles / 21 K; 4,000 FT vertical gain/loss
- 11K: 6.8 Miles / 11 K; 1,700 FT vertical gain/loss
- Lone Peak VK: 2.85 Miles / 4.6 K; 3,623 FT vertical gain
- Runt Run: 0.62 Miles / 1K; 80 FT vertical gain/loss
The event offers supported training runs in the Big Sky area, with marked routes, staffed aid stations, and shoe demos. The organization runs community programs such as community nights and grants; the inaugural Rut Grants committed $8,000 and were matched to a $16,000 total, with awards ranging from $500 to $3,500.
