The Pike at Rivington Pike
The Pike is an 8 hour loop running event held in Rivington, UK. Participants run repeated circuits of a mixed-terrain 5 km loop that combines trails and road sections. Each loop includes an ascent of Rivington Pike with about 204 m / 669 ft of elevation.
Runners may take part solo or in teams of up to four, with only one team member on course at a time. The event records lap times from a single start/loop line and provides a finishing time, total distance and a medal for every participant. There is a strict 8 hour cut-off; laps not completed by the cut-off are not included in results. Team entries appear on a separate team leaderboard.
The start/finish area acts as the main aid station and spectator zone. There is a bag drop accessible throughout the day, and the aid station supplies water, fruit, sweet and savoury snacks, energy bars and electrolytes. Participants are asked to bring their own bottles as cups are not provided. Portaloos will be available at the aid station.
The route is not closed to other users, so runners may encounter walkers and dogs. Entry fees are listed as £30 to £36. The event date is Sep 11th 2027. Runners aged 12 to 15 must have a parent or guardian arrange their place and attend the event; under 12s are not permitted. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
