The Next Loop Endurance Series - Lake Carl Blackwell
The event is a trail endurance meeting at Lake Carl Blackwell Park with all competitions on an approximate 3.15 mile loop. Race headquarters is at Shredders Gulch Campground.
Event formats include:
- The Next Loop Hourly Challenge: start a loop every hour and complete as many loops as desired
- The Next 12 Hour Challenge: continuous running for a 12 hour period, distance recorded
- The Next 40M/50M Challenge: continuous 40 mile or 50 mile distance attempts
- The Next Loop Team Relay: 50 mile distance for 2- or 4-person teams, one teammate on course at a time
Results are reported by distance completed. The Hourly and 12 Hour formats report total completed loops and distance; distance-chosen events report overall finish time. Events and distances are reported together; certain record listings require at least 14 participants.
A central aid station at Race Headquarters provides water, endurance drink supplied by TAILWIND Nutrition, cookies, candies, chips, pickles and some warm food during the night. Gels are not supplied. Staging space is available on green areas, under the pavilion, or from vehicles. The park does not normally allow overnight camping.
Pre-race briefings and packet pick-up take place at Race Headquarters; the pre-race briefing is required and is the last opportunity to confirm or change event selection. Pacers are allowed after a participant completes four loops, with only one pacer on course at a time. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
