Event Overview
The Murder Mile Halloween Horror is a night-trail running event held on October 31, 2026, in Franklin, Tennessee. The event takes place on private land located approximately 20 minutes from downtown Franklin. Participants navigate a course transformed with eerie lighting, creepy sounds, and themed decorations to celebrate the Halloween season.
The race features two distinct categories:
- Haunted Half
- Sinister Six
Course Details
The event is held on the "Murder Mile," a 1.1-mile loop consisting of wide double-track trails on an old logging road. Each loop includes 340 feet of elevation gain, featuring two steep climbs without switchbacks. Between the climbs are runnable sections and a downhill segment through a field leading back to the start and finish area.
Race Mechanics and Features
Participants track their progress using a clothes-pin system for each completed loop. The event incorporates interactive "Trick-or-Treat" stations. Runners encounter a "Treat" side with candy and a "Trick" side involving a Bag of Tricks. Drawing from the bag requires runners to complete specific challenges for their next lap, such as carrying a pumpkin or performing specific movements.
The event is held on a working farm with free-roaming livestock guardian dogs; therefore, outside dogs are not permitted on the property without prior coordination. Awards are presented to the top three male and female finishers in both the Haunted Half and Sinister Six categories.
Logistics
Registration fees are non-refundable and are used to cover event costs and maintain the private property. In the event of dangerous weather forecasts, the race may be moved to the Friday evening prior to the scheduled date. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
