The Midwest Ultra Trail Classic
The Midwest Ultra Trail Classic is the inaugural trail running event held at Knob Noster State Park in Knob Noster, Missouri. The event uses the Opossum Hollow Trail and runs on a 10K loop that is technical single track from start to finish. Terrain features include winding forest trails, rolling hills, roots, rocks, creek crossings, and about 550 feet of elevation gain per loop. Each additional distance adds another 10K loop.
All runners start together and return to the Start/Finish area every 10K. The Start/Finish area provides a fully stocked aid station, access to personal coolers, and space for gear so no drop bags are necessary. Crew access is permitted at the Start/Finish area only; there is no crew access on course. The event includes a finisher medal and a race shirt with registration. The event is professionally timed and pacers are not allowed. The 50K distance has a nine hour cutoff.
