About the race
The Mangy Coyote 13 Hour Trail is a timed trail event held at Trenton Park in Nova Scotia on Saturday, October 24, 2026. The event carries a new name after being formerly known as The Backyard Boogeyman.
The format runs for 13 hours. Participants may complete as many loops as they wish on a roughly 4.2 km loop that includes 40 to 60 metres of elevation, a mix of gravel trails and technical singletrack, and a small stream crossing. This event does not require runners to start laps on the hour or maintain a fixed pace; there is no required number of loops.
An aid station will be stocked with snacks, drinks and essentials throughout the day, and participants are advised to bring any personal items they prefer. A crew area near the start and finish is available for tents, gear and support.
Awards include recognition and prize packages for the top male and female finishers by most loops completed and a Spirit of the Pack award for someone who brings energy and supports other runners.
Registration is $85 plus tax and processing fees, non refundable, and includes access to the event, the stocked aid station and a finisher sticker. A portion of proceeds will support the Pictou County United Way. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
