The Mangy Coyote Backyard Ultra
The Mangy Coyote Backyard Ultra takes place at Trenton Park, Nova Scotia on October 24, 2026. The event is a fundraiser for the Pictou County United Way. The format is a casual backyard style ultramarathon lasting 13 hours: participants run a loop and repeat it until the time expires or they withdraw.
Loop distance is to be determined; estimated between 4 and 6 km with roughly 40 to 60 m of elevation. The course mixes groomed double-wide gravel trails and technical singletrack. An aid station provides hydration, light snacks, and basic essentials. A crew area offers tent space near the start and finish for gear, food, and support.
There are no refunds. Divisions and awards include Most Loops Completed for male and female categories with a trophy and prize package, and a Spirit of the Pack Award for a runner who embodies endurance and community. Registration is listed at $85 plus tax and processing fees and includes a finisher sticker and access to the stocked aid station. A volunteer registration option is available separately at no cost.
