The Great Escape
The Great Escape is a multi-distance trail event in the Ardennes with running and walking options organised by Legends Trails. The race basecamp and finish are at the Hall Polyvalent, 22 Route d’Eselborn, 9706 Clervaux, Luxembourg. Registration and packet pickup at the HQ are mandatory and participants are transported by bus to their start locations.

- 100 km run
- 160 km walk
- 80 km walk
Registration opens on January 9 and closes on September 8. Places are limited per distance and allocated first-come, first-served; there is no waitlist. Cancellations until August 21 receive a 50% refund; transfers are allowed until September 8. On-site registration during race weekend is not available.
The event provides a GPS tracker, mandatory kit checks, race number, checkpoints with food and drinks, pre-race dinner, hot mid-race meals for the longest distances, post-race barbecue, showers at Abbaye Saint-Maurice (about 600 m from HQ), medical support and bus transport to starts. Walk versions have a maximum speed of 6.5 km/h and are not ranked; walkers receive a “Finisher” label.
Checkpoints are typically about 20 km apart, offer water, hot drinks where possible, snacks and varied food (meat and vegan options), and CP4 (Heiderscheid) allows sleeping and drop-bag access under specific conditions. Drop bags must be ≤10 kg, are handed in at registration and collected at designated aid stations and at the finish. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
