The Gratitude Run - Stellenbosch
The Gratitude Run takes place on Heritage Day, Thursday 24 September 2026, at Dornier Wines in Stellenbosch. The event is organised by Distance For Difference to raise funds for South African child-focused charities. Net proceeds after direct costs go to beneficiaries named by the organiser.
Participants can choose from several race formats and distances:
- 5 km Fun Run / Walk, open to all ages (U12 must run with an adult)
- 10 km Trail Run, minimum age 14
- 20 km Trail Run, minimum age 14, two loops of the 10 km trail
- Team Relay 3 x 4 x 5, 3 km laps, teams of 3 to 5, timed four-hour event
Published entry fees include R135 (adults) / R75 (children U12) for the 5 km, R220 for the 10 km, R260 for the 20 km and R850 per team for the relay. On-the-day entries are permitted if the event is not sold out and carry a modest surcharge. Entries are not refundable but may be transferred until 14 September 2026.
Race support includes two water stations on the 10 km route, medals for top finishers and smaller finisher medals for other participants, prize categories, and food and coffee stalls. Gratitude Run T-shirts will be available for purchase at number collection and at the event. Parking at the farm is limited; organisers advise carpooling or ride services. Prams are allowed only on the 5 km route and dogs are not permitted on site. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
