The Forest Grind
The Forest Grind is a multi-format running event at Forest Hills Sports club in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal. The event uses a looped course of 3.2 km for its main laps and offers several distinct challenges and activities.
The main formats described are:
- The Big Grind: an "ultimate survival" format based on repeated 3.2 km laps; entrants aim to complete the most laps with a stated minimum of 24 laps. Camping is included for Big Grind entrants. Clean ablutions, food vendors and a bar will be available. Big Grind entrants who complete 24 laps receive a complimentary solo entry to the Grind & Gulp Beer Mile as a bonus.
- The Mini Grind: a family fun run that uses a single 3.2 km lap intended for families.
- The Grind & Glug (Beer Mile): a one mile event split into four 400 m laps that combines running with beer drinking; entries can be solo or in teams of two or four. A Best Dressed award (Wet n Wild Next level Theme) and additional prizes are listed.
