The Divide 200
The Divide 200 is an ultramarathon held in Castle-Crowsnest, Alberta on August 16-20, 2027. The route runs through the Castle/Crowsnest region of the southern Rocky Mountains and highlights portions of the Great Divide Trail along the Continental Divide.
Distances offered include:
- 200 miles / 322 km
- 115 km (presented as the 100k option in some materials)
The 200-mile course lists 11,500 m of elevation gain and loss with a 100-hour cutoff. The shorter option lists 4,500 m of elevation gain and loss with a 28-hour cutoff. Checkpoints are spaced approximately every 20 to 40 km and designated sleeping areas are available at major aid stations.
Organizers cap the number of racers on course at 100 simultaneously. Entry categories include solo, team, and relay formats; relay teams use the same route and may swap at specified support-accessible checkpoints. Support crews may meet runners at specific points but are not mandatory. Pacers are permitted on select sections.
Race logistics include course flagging with reflective markers, GPS files, pre-programmed satellite trackers (Garmin inReach), staffed aid stations with a variety of food including hot options, professional medical standby, and search and rescue standby. Pre- and post-race meals are included for 200-mile and 100k entrants; relay teams may add these meals. The event is listed as a UTMB qualifying race and is Trail Sisters Approved.
