THE CONQUER - Dawsonville, GA
THE CONQUER is a backyard ultra held at Amicalola Falls State Park using the Appalachian Trail approach and surrounding trails. The course is a loop that starts at the top of the falls, follows the rugged East Ridge trail down to the lower parking area, picks up the Mountain Laurel trail, and returns via the AT approach stairs. The loop is 3.6 mile with about 1,025 ft of elevation gain.
Each runner must complete the loop within one hour and then repeat the same loop each hour until only one runner completes a final solo lap. Runners must be in the starting corral at the top of the hour and begin their loop with the rest of the field; late starts are not allowed. The course is fully marked and a route map will be available. Cutting the course results in disqualification. Between loops runners may use their time for rest, gear care, eating, or medical attention but may not leave the venue or start the next loop early.
No pacers are allowed; support crews may assist at the finish area. Participants receive a 10x10 spot for a tent or may use table space under the race support tent. Event services include free park admission and parking, timing, snacks and water, free photos, and custom DNW medals. Prize structure includes cash awards for the last man and last woman standing and named awards for reaching specific loop totals. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
