The Coldwater Classic
The Coldwater Classic is a combined trail running and cross-country mountain biking weekend held at the Coutlee Plateau Mountain Biking Recreation Area in Merritt, BC. The event is organized by Heads or Trails and offers separate race days for running and mountain biking, or an option to participate in both days as a weekend combo.
Distances available:
- 26 km course
- 10 km course
The weekend format includes a trail running day and a separate XC bike day; participants can enter one day or the run plus bike combo that covers the 26 km courses on both days. Course routes are identified for each distance and are listed on Trailforks.
On-site camping is available free of charge on a first come, first served basis and accommodates tents, RVs, and trailers. Portable toilets are provided. There are no electrical hookups or showers at the campsite.

The event is presented as an in-person outdoor competition in Merritt, BC, with both running and mountain biking options and local trail-based courses.
