Thames Riverside 20

Thames Riverside 20 is a paced 20 mile running event organised by Clapham Chasers at Old Deer Park, Richmond, London. The course follows the south side of the River Thames along the towpath and is traffic free for the duration of the route.

The surface is primarily gravel with some mud and limited lengths of footpath; the terrain varies and is uneven in places. Each mile point is marked and marshals and direction arrows are used on the course. Short, well-marked diversions may be introduced if maintenance or flooding affects the route. Runners should keep left at all times because the towpath remains open to the public who retain right of way.

The race operates dedicated pace groups across a range of target mile paces, with pacers marshaling runners into groups before the start. Cupped energy drinks and water are provided approximately every 3 miles and at race headquarters, and runners may refill bottles at these points. Covered, supervised baggage storage is available at race headquarters; bags are left at runners' own risk and race packs include a bag tag.

Portaloos are provided at the start and finish area. Professional and volunteer bicycle first aiders will be on the course and an ambulance crew will be based at race headquarters. The event is run under British Athletics rules. Post race cakes are available with voluntary contributions donated to charity. Parking is available opposite Old Deer Park and the site is a short walk from Richmond rail station. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
