About the race
The Taynish Run Festival is a set of charity running events on 31 Oct 2026 in Tayvallich, Mid Argyll, within and around Taynish National Nature Reserve. The event is organised by Rotary of Mid Argyll and supported by local MacMillan Cancer Support groups, with entry fees treated as donations to MacMillan Cancer Support.
There are three separate races with a total of 100 places across all events. All participants receive a race medal and a ticket for post race food provided at Tayvallich Village Hall; supporters may purchase buffet tickets. Prizes are planned for the first, second and third place male and female finishers in each race. The course is marshalled, includes water stops and has first aid cover. Limited car parking is available at Tayvallich Village Hall and in the village.
Participants must follow marshal instructions, be aware that some road sections remain open to traffic, and give way to vehicles. Headphones are not allowed. Entrants cannot transfer their number and there are no refunds; if a runner cannot attend or the race is cancelled, the entry fee will be donated to MacMillan Cancer Support. Routes are varied in surface and exposure; traffic is excluded for most but not all of each route.
