About the race
The Taynish Run Festival is a charity running event held in Tayvallich, Mid Argyll, with routes that run into the Taynish National Nature Reserve. The event is organised by Rotary of Mid Argyll and raises funds for MacMillan Cancer Support. There are a total of 100 places across the three races.
Race facilities include registration and briefing at Tayvallich Village Hall (PA31 8PW), marshals on course, water stops, first aid cover and limited car parking at the village hall and in the village. The race starts at Tayvallich Church and finishes at Tayvallich Village Hall. All finishers receive a race medal and a ticket for the post race buffet; supporters may purchase buffet tickets.
Entry rules and fees: individual entry is £20, entries are non refundable and non transferable, and entries may be treated as donations to MacMillan Cancer Support if the entrant cannot attend or if the event is cancelled. Event insurance may be taken out by entrants.
Safety and course notes: pets are not allowed, headphones are prohibited, runners must obey marshals and be aware that parts of the route run on public roads with vehicle traffic. The routes are signposted and marshalled but runners should take care when passing other users.

- Approx 6.8 miles Cross Country Trail Run, minimum age 17
- 10K Road Race, minimum age 16
- 5K Taynish Mill route, minimum age 14
Detailed course notes describe mixed surfaces, steep climbs on some trails, sections excluded from traffic and areas where runners may meet slow moving vehicles. Prize awards are planned for top three male and female finishers in each race. Race times are emailed to entrants after the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
