About the race
Nelson Orienteering Club is running a local orienteering event at Tahuna in Nelson on Sunday 11 October 2026. The event offers a range of map-based courses that cover beginner to advanced orienteering levels. Course details such as exact length and number of controls will be published once confirmed. Courses available include: - White course for absolute beginners - Yellow course for newer orienteers - Orange course for intermediate navigation - Short Red course for experienced competitors - Long Red course for more advanced navigation Parking will be signposted from the main entrance road.
Participants register in advance; registration closes on Wednesday 7 October. The event is organised by the local club and uses a planned set of courses across the Tahuna area. Map reading and control navigation are central to the activity.
