About the race
The Swiss Irontrail takes place in the Parc Ela in Graubünden, in the Val Surses, on 14 to 15 August 2027. It is a trail running event with multiple race formats that run on mountain trails, alpine meadows and passes, glaciers and mountain lakes.
The event offers several marked races and hikes:
- 78.0 km T78 Savognin, Savognin to Savognin, approx. +/- 4 996 m elevation
- 55.0 km T55 Savognin, Savognin to Bivio, +4 199 m / -3 610 m
- 21.6 km T22 Bivio, Bivio to Bivio, +/- 1 229 m
- 21.6 km H22 Bivio, day hike, Bivio to Bivio, +/- 1 229 m
- 20.2 km T20 Savognin, Savognin to Savognin, +/- 1 059 m
- 20.2 km H20 Savognin, day hike, Savognin to Savognin, +/- 1 059 m
- 0.8 to 2.4 km Kids Run Savognin, short youth distances, +/- 16 m
Practical notes on terrain and safety: above 2 000 m a temperature drop below freezing with possible snowfall can occur; appropriate clothing is required. The organiser recommends acclimatisation, ideally five days above 1 200 m. Volunteers support event logistics and aid stations appear along the routes.
