Sunflower Trail Run
The Sunflower Trail Run is an annual trail event at Kansas Maze in Buhler, Kansas, held on August 29, 2026. The event includes the following race options:
- 5K
- 1 mile
- Virtual run
The courses are laid out inside more than 20 acres of sunflower fields with pathways cut through the plants. Runners must remain on the designated pathways; violators may be disqualified. Uneven ground and wet or muddy conditions can occur. Pollinating bees will be present in the field. Pets are not allowed.
All registrants who register before the cut-off date are scheduled to receive a finisher t-shirt, a finisher medal, and two free admissions for another visit to the Sunflower Festival; shirts and medals are not guaranteed for late registrations. Medals and shirts must be picked up in person unless the registrant is entered as a virtual runner or other arrangements have been made. Free pancakes will be served after the races for runners and their guests.
Teams may be formed with a minimum of four members. A referral program offers a $10 refund when three others register using a personal referral code. Timing and official results are provided by Morgan Sports and posted online. Course maps will be available. Kansas Maze may cancel or change the date if sunflower blooms are insufficient or weather or field conditions make changes necessary.
