Sunday LSD GOAT run with 15km

This is a road run organised by Left Handed Giant Run Club that starts and finishes at Commune Cafe in Temple Hill, Bristol. The advertised main distance is 15 km. The route is on roads and the event offers a bag drop. Participants are asked to bring water, snacks and a phone for safety.

The runs are long slow distance sessions led by volunteer run leaders. The front of the group typically aims for around 5:45 to 6:15 min/km but the pace will adapt to the group on the day. The organisers emphasise regrouping: steeper hills are walked, the whole group waits at regroup points so everyone gets a break, and support is provided by both a front and a back runner. Runners should choose a distance they can complete largely at a running pace and may walk if injured or unwell.

Distances provided as guidance:

  • 10 km route: able to run 6 km without walking
  • 15 km route: able to run 8 km without walking
  • 20 km route: able to run 15 km without walking

The club is run by volunteers and asks attendees to be mindful when choosing the route. The event is presented as an endurance and social run rather than a race. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
