About the race
The Südtirol Drei Zinnen Alpine Run is a mountain running event in Sexten / Sesto that follows a high-altitude trail through the Sexten Dolomites. The main course covers 17.9 km with about 1,354 m of ascent and leads into the mountain landscape around the Three Peaks.
Each year roughly 1,000 mountain runners from more than 20 nations take part. The route finishes near the Dreizinnenhütte / Rifugio Locatelli Hut, where runners encounter a view of the Three Peaks. The event is part of a running weekend that also includes the Drei Zinnen Ski Raid and a Winter Night Run.
A separate Mini Alpine Run is held for children and young people up to the age of 18; this children’s race traditionally takes place on Sunday. The Winter Night Run starts at the cross-country trail next to Hotel Waldheim and runs toward Moos and into the Fischleintal, with a short climb and a section on a scenic winter hiking path.
