Stubborn Spirits 24 Hour Run
Stubborn Donkey Running and the town of Weldon present a 24 hour running event on the Roanoke Canal Trail in Weldon, North Carolina. The course is a flat out and back loop of 4.2 miles with mixed terrain that is primarily dirt path. The loop begins and ends in River Falls Park, where there is space for runners to set up tents along the course and adjacent parking and portajohns are available on site.
All finishers receive a medal, and runners who complete 100 mile distances will receive a specially crafted buckle. There will be chip timing, an aid station offering food, and music at the event. The course passes in front of Weldon Mills Distillery; the distillery will be open during the event and accessible to runners and crew while it is operating.
Packet pickup is scheduled the day before the main event and the morning of the race. Participants should plan to carry a light source for nighttime miles. Further event details will be provided by the organizers. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
