Stuart Learmouth Memorial Undulator

The Stuart Learmouth Memorial Undulator is a fell race of 13.7 km (8.5 miles) with 457 m of ascent around Wirksworth in the Peak District. The route starts in Stoney Wood, passes the old Middle Peak Quarry and climbs across pastureland towards Middleton Top and the historic winding house of the Cromford and High Peak Railway. Runners cross the B5035, the High Peak Trail and open farmland before reaching the area of Ryder Point Quarry and Brassington Moor Quarry. The course reaches around 1230 ft at Harborough Rocks and then descends through crags and boulders to the High Peak Trail.

The route includes a mix of steep and flat sections, rocky ground, trail and road, sections alongside wind turbines, and views over Carsington Water. The last mile follows Middle Peak Quarry and skirts Stoney Wood before the finish. The race is run under Fell Runners Association licence and entrants must hold the required skills, equipment and fitness set out by the FRA. Organisers do not provide a GPX of the course.

Entries are advance only with an entry fee of £10. Online entries open in January and close on Friday 25th September. The race is open to anyone aged over 18 on 31st December in the year of the race. Competitors are asked to bring their own cup for water. No refunds, no entries on the day and no name substitutions. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
