About the race
The Stromlo Running Festival is a two-day trail running event held 14–15 November 2026 at Stromlo Forest Park, Canberra. The festival offers a range of course distances and a separate children’s run, and it is presented as an inclusive, family-friendly community event supported by the ACT Government.
Race distances include:
- 42.2 km Marathon
- 30 km
- 15 km
- 10 km
- 5 km
- 2.5 km Kids Run
The event site is a purpose-built running and cycling facility with on-site parking and visitor amenities. The festival is ITRA/UTMB indexed. Organisers note volunteer roles are used to support operations, and the University of Canberra operates a Recovery Hub staffed by physiotherapy students for post-run recovery support.
Bibs are pick-up only and may be collected on behalf of another participant. Pre-event collection is available at the Canberra and Region Visitor Information Centre, Regatta Point, during the week before the event; additional collection points are provided at the Stromlo Forest Park event hub. Entry waves are allocated and participants must run in their registered start wave; starting outside an allocated wave affects eligibility for awards and official results.
The festival references community themes of strength, resilience, courage, and history tied to local recovery after the 2003 bushfires. Partners and sponsors include local and national organisations, and the event publishes results and photos after race day. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
