Step Up for the Brave
Step Up for the Brave is an event presented by Homes for the Brave at Sacred Heart University - Martire Family Arena in Fairfield, CT. The event program includes an indoor timed stair climb, an indoor walk challenge, and a virtual step challenge held at participants' own locations.
The timed stair climb is a chip timed, 90 minute stair climb that circles the interior of the arena. Each lap around the interior covers 0.40 miles and includes 500 stairs. The walk challenge is a 90 minute stair climb that circles the arena interior and also includes a stroll around the exterior of the ice rink; each lap covers 0.20 miles. The virtual option is a five day step challenge completed at each participant's own pace and location.
Registration for each event carries a participation fee of $40. Participation for the in-person events and the virtual challenge includes a complimentary event shirt. The event emphasizes step counts and laps completed within the timed formats and the virtual challenge tracks steps over the five day period.
