Stainbank Spring Trail Run
The Stainbank Spring Trail Run takes place in the Kenneth Stainbank Nature Reserve in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal. The route starts and finishes at Coedmore Castle near the reserve entrance and offers two distance options:
- 5 km relatively easy route
- 12 km more technical route with single track
Water tables are provided on route with hydration and some snacks. The water tables are cupless and no water sachets will be available. Participants are encouraged to carry personal hydration packs or a collapsible cup. Cups are available at the tables for use but may not be taken onto the course. No litter, including gels and bottles, is permitted on the trails.
Standard class fees are R130 for the 5 km and R180 for the 12 km. Children aged 12 years and younger can enter the short course for R50.
The event is organised in support of the Kenneth Stainbank Honorary Officers, a volunteer group that helps maintain the reserve and supports wildlife conservation and monitoring. Proceeds are directed toward preserving the reserve's wildlife and environment. The event sponsor is MetPac-SA, a metal packaging Producer Responsibility Organisation that promotes recycling and circular economy principles.
