About the race
The Stainbank Spring Trail Run takes place in the Kenneth Stainbank Nature Reserve in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal on 20 September 2026. The event offers two marked course options that run through reserve trails and single-track sections.
Distances:
- 5 km relatively easy route
- 12 km technical route with single track sections
The start and finish are located at Coedmore Castle near the main reserve entrance. Water tables will be provided on course for hydration and snacks; these tables are cupless and no water sachets will be available. Participants are encouraged to carry their own hydration packs or a collapsible water cup. Cups provided at tables may be used on site but may not be taken onto the course. No litter, including gel wrappers or bottles, is to be left on the trail.
Entry pricing shown for available classes:
- 5 km entry R130
- 12 km entry R180 Children aged 12 years and younger may enter the short course for R50. A late entry fee of R20 applies to entries made on the day.
Event proceeds support the Kenneth Stainbank Honorary Officers and conservation and monitoring work in the reserve. The event is sponsored by MetPac-SA, a producer responsibility organisation focused on packaging sustainability. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
