Staffs Knot 5 Mile and Fun Run
The event comprises a main 5 mile race and a 2 mile fun run around Cannock Chase, based at Cannock Chase Visitors Centre, Marquis Drive, Hednesford, WS12 4PW. It is part of the NSRRA race series and holds a UK Athletics race licence (29866).

The main race uses a mix of trails and pathways, with sections through woods that can be muddy and wet. The fun run follows tarmac or gravel but may have mud washed onto parts of the route. A revised route was introduced in 2025 to avoid a grazing area.
Prizes and awards include individual, team and age-group prizes, trophies for the first under-19 male and female, and a £100 prize for breaking the men’s or women’s course record (sponsored). All finishers of the main race receive a bespoke medal and a Purity Point Five low alcohol beer; all fun run participants receive a medal. The main race is chip timed with live results. The course was officially measured and certified on 8 June 2017 by a member of the Association of UK Course Measurers.
Entry details from the 2026 event: the fun run fee was £6 plus a small entry charge with a race limit of 100; the main race fee was £19 plus a small entry charge with a race limit of 500. Race numbers and timing chips are issued at registration on the night. There are no changing facilities on site. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
