Spring Trail Chase 10K
The Spring Trail Chase 10K is organized by the Chicago Area Runners Association (CARA) and is held at The Forge Lemont Quarries in Lemont, Illinois on May 16, 2027. The event is a chip-timed 10K run/walk on a mostly crushed limestone trail that is generally flat and passes through wooded areas, scenic views of water-filled quarries, and parts of the adventure park.
The route begins at The Lawn, proceeds along the Illinois & Michigan Trail Passage, continues through the Lemont Heritage Quarry Trails, and passes through The Forge Adventure Park grounds. Trail surfaces include crushed limestone, some wooden bridge crossings, gravel, and wood chip.
Event services include a gear check at The Lawn with a one-bag limit and a CARA branded participant item. Packet mailing is offered with a deadline in early May. The event has a capacity of 450 and registration may close sooner if capacity is reached. There is no virtual option.
Awards are given to the top three overall finishers in the male, female, and non-binary categories, with recognition awards to the top three men and women in standard age-group brackets. Overall award winners are not eligible to receive age-group awards. The event follows a no-refund and no-transfer policy and does not allow strollers or animals.
