Southern Freeze 2027
Southern Freeze 2027 is an urban ultramarathon held in Columbus, Georgia and Phenix City, Alabama on January 23, 2027. The course follows the RiverWalks along the Chattahoochee River and passes several local landmarks.

The route goes along the Chattahoochee River and through Columbus, passing the world’s longest urban whitewater course, Columbus State University, the National Infantry Museum, Golden Park, and multiple river viewpoints.
Aid stations provide a range of food and drink options, including chicken noodle soup, grilled cheese, cookies, snacks, water, Coke, and CeraSport. Participants with special dietary needs are advised to plan accordingly.
Every registered runner receives a race T-shirt and a beanie, and all finishers receive a finisher medal. The 1st place overall finisher in each distance receives a special award. The event also offers a paired Freeze and Fried challenge that combines January and August races into cumulative distances with special awards for completing both events; the combined options include a 50K, 100K, and 100 mile challenge depending on chosen distances at each event.
Time cutoffs are 10 hours for the 25K and 50K, and 14 hours for the 50 Mile. The event policy includes no refunds or deferrals. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
