Southern Freeze 50/50 - January 23, 2027
Southern Freeze is an urban ultra in Columbus, Georgia, that uses the RiverWalks of Columbus and Phenix City, Alabama. The course follows the Chattahoochee River and passes local landmarks such as the world's longest urban whitewater course, Columbus State University, the National Infantry Museum, and Golden Park, with extended river views along the route.

- 50K
- 50 mile
Cutoff times are published for each distance: 25K and 50K have a 10 hour cutoff and the 50 mile has a 14 hour cutoff. Aid stations provide food options including chicken noodle soup, grilled cheese, cookies, and snacks, plus hydration options such as water, Coke, and CeraSport. Participants with specific dietary needs are advised to plan accordingly.
Registered entrants receive a race T-shirt and a beanie; all finishers receive a finisher medal. The first place overall finisher in each distance receives a special award. The event also offers a combined Freeze & Fry challenge pairing this January race with the August Southern Fried event, with combined-distance options, a registration discount, and a special award for those who complete both races.
