SOS - Mona Vale
SOS - Mona Vale is a Saturday Orienteering Series event held at Mona Vale Public School, Waratah Street, Mona Vale NSW. The program focuses on school‑ground orienteering with short, fast courses that use buildings, courtyards, stairs, and open areas to create technical navigation challenges. Courses available include Warm Up (recommended for beginners), Short Line, Long Line, Score, and a weekly social relay for two to four runners. Entrants may run multiple courses on the day.
SPORTident electronic timing is used for all courses; participants without a personal SPORTident card can hire one when entering. Standard entry fees are listed for adults and school students, with a member discount available by using a promo code at checkout. A late entry surcharge applies for registrations after the published deadline. Timing card hire has an additional fee and all prices include GST and merchant fees. A free Buddy ticket option is available for adults who wish to accompany a young or inexperienced orienteer without receiving a personal timing chip or map.
The meeting point is Mona Vale Public School, Waratah Street, with entry from Wangara Street. Each week introduces a new map and route choices, coaches are present to assist skill development, and results track progress across the term.
