This long-distance LDWA members only event takes place in West Somerset and is run over two loops that both start and finish at Crowcombe Village Hall. One loop runs toward the Brendon Hills and the other onto the Quantocks, passing through areas noted for autumn colours.
The route covers roughly 50 miles and includes significant ascent of about 8,000 ft, remote trails and reduced daylight conditions typical of an autumn event. Participants must be 18 years or older and will be required to have completed at least one 30 mile, one-day event within 12 months of the event date.
Organisers require participants to wear a live tracker throughout the event and to carry mandatory kit listed in the event rules. A declaration of kit will be signed at registration and there will be kit checks on the route; missing mandatory items may lead to disqualification. Checkpoint opening and closing times are strictly enforced.
Parking at the venue is limited and organisers operate a waiting list when capacity is reached. The full route description and GPX file are provided for download prior to the event.
