Smoky Mountain 24 Hour Challenge
The Smoky Mountain 24 Hour Challenge is a trail running event in Sevierville, Tennessee on October 17, 2026. The event is organized by East Coast Adventures in collaboration with Yeti Trail Runners and is limited to 300 runners. The course is a 3 mile loop at 1005 Park Road in the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains.
Course and format
The main event is a 24 hour timed challenge where runners cover as many miles as they can on the 3 mile loop. A second option, called the 9 to 5 Challenge, gives runners eight hours on the same loop. Aid is located at the center of the loop so runners pass it every three miles; volunteers and support are present with snacks, hydration, and cowbells.
- 24 Hour Challenge - 24 hours to run as many miles as possible
- 9 to 5 Challenge - eight hour daytime challenge on the same loop
Practical details include a capacity limit of 300 runners, finisher medal, and a custom race T-shirt. Runners who reach 80 miles receive a Dolly themed belt buckle. Published registration fees are $250 for the 24 hour event and $150 for the 9 to 5 event. Registration closes October 12, 2026. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
