Skunk Ape 100 Mile Endurance Run
The Skunk Ape 100 Mile Endurance Run is scheduled for April 24 to 25, 2027 in Ocala, Florida. The event is organized by Skunk Ape Events and is based at the Santos Trailhead within the Marjorie Harris Carr Cross Florida Greenway.
Distances
- 100 Mile two loops of the 50ish mile out and back course
- 50 Mile single loop out and back on Florida Trail and paved paths
The course follows the Florida National Scenic Trail and paved trails through the Greenway and Ross Prairie Wildlife Management Area. Trail surfaces include single track, sand, roots, short climbs, and paved sections. Total elevation gain listed is 1,562 feet, with that value doubled for the full 100 mile distance.
Aid stations, staffed or unstaffed, will carry a mix of sodas, salty snacks, gels, produce, hot food or coffee, bandages, and women’s hygiene products. Aid stations are accessible by vehicle. Drop bags are collected at the start and may be left at specified aid stations; 100 mile runners have an additional drop bag location at Ross Prairie. Crewing is allowed at aid stations with guidance provided in the race guide.
Pacer rules differ by distance: 50 mile runners generally do not use pacers except for runners over 60 or needing special assistance; 100 mile runners may add pacers after completing 50 miles. Both distances use a 36 hour course cut off.
Awards include wooden trophies from Wicked Skins for top overall finishers, a finisher plaque for the 50 mile, and a belt buckle for the 100 mile.
