Seymour Sprint and Stroll (16 May)

Philip’s Footprints stages a coastal charity event offering trail running and a beach walk on Jersey’s south-east coast. The event takes place across part of the protected Jersey Ramsar site and includes a finisher’s medal for participants.

Distances:

  • 10 km trail run to Seymour Tower and back.
  • 6 km trail run to Seymour Slip and back.
  • 6 km beach walk to Seymour Slip and back.

The 10 km course crosses inter-tidal terrain and gullies; participants should bring trainers that can get wet. The 10 km entry requires the ability to complete the distance in under 90 minutes because of tide timing. Both running routes are pre-registration only and are run on a pre-set marshalled route with qualified first aiders available. The beach walk allows on-the-day sign-up and walkers may turn back at any point and return to the start to collect a medal.

Children aged 8 to 13 running either distance must be accompanied by an adult for the whole distance; those aged 14 and over may run independently. Dogs are welcome but must be kept on leads and under control. Rubbish must be carried during the crossings; bins are provided at the charity gazebo, the Seymour Tower turning point and Longbeach car park. The organiser reserves the right to postpone or cancel the event if weather makes it unsafe. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
