Seven Sisters Skyline
The Seven Sisters Skyline is a mountain running event organised by Excel Sports in the Derryveagh Mountains, County Donegal, Ireland. The event offers three race distances and runs along the Seven Sisters ridge from Errigal to Muckish, featuring ridgelines, rocky summits, steep climbs, and technical descents.
Distances and key facts:
- 55 km : full Skyline, 4,000m+ ascent, six summit ascents.
- 30 km : point to point traverse of the Skyline, technical and fast.
- 16 km : shorter introduction starting at Altan Track and looping around Altan Castle.
The 55 km and 30 km races are UTMB Index events and may earn participants points toward the UTMB World Series. The 55 km and 30 km events share a combined prize purse of €10,000, with cash prizes for the top five male and female finishers in each event. The 55 km event will host the National Series Skyrunning Championships and has a separate €7,500 prize pool.
Course descriptions note sharp ridges, scrambling sections, and sustained elevation changes.
