Scrumpy Skedaddle
Scrumpy Skedaddle is a running event held at Almar Orchard, 1431 Duffield Rd, Flushing, MI. The event features multiple distance options on a mix of orchard paths and dirt roads through working orchard land. The course is described as flat and may include fallen apples and tractor ruts on the route.
Packet pickup is available the Thursday before at Complete Runner Flint and on race day at the orchard until shortly before each race. Parking is in fields near Almar Orchard and may require about a quarter mile walk to the start and finish area.
Aid stations are provided: one station on the 5K and 10K courses and three stations on the 10 mile course. Aid stations offer water and Gatorade. Time limits apply by distance: participants have 75 minutes for the 5K, 2 hours for the 10K, and 2 hours 50 minutes for the 10 mile.
Post race activities at the orchard include music, hard cider tasting, and an all you can eat pancake breakfast; extra pancake tickets are available. Finishers receive a bottle opener medal and a finisher cup. Overall awards are based on gun time and 5 year age group awards are given 3 deep based on chip time.
