About the race
Saturn Running holds a themed timed running event in Staines along a stretch of the River Thames to mark the 50th anniversary of the original Star Wars release. The event is a 7 hour Time Challenge that lets participants choose how many laps to complete. The minimum recorded distance is 3 km and a full lap is listed as 7 km (4.37 miles), with a possible change to a 3.28 mile loop depending on course conditions. The lap includes 3 km and 5 km turn points to support compliance with UK Athletics age rules.
This event is licensed by the Trail Running Association and is held under UK Athletics rules. Entry pricing varies by distance; members receive the lowest entry price which is £10 lower than the full price, guaranteed entry, and a mini-me medal pin. Runners who belong to a UK Athletics affiliated club receive a £2 discount.
The mostly paved and well made paths course is fully signed, with a very short grass section; road shoes are suitable year round. Finishers who complete at least 3 km receive a themed medal and distance pins are issued for half-marathon distance and above. Aid and drinks tables are available at the start and finish of each lap with a range of snacks and vegan options. Venue toilets are provided, parking is available nearby at Bridge Street Car Park, and a non-secure bag drop is provided. Headphones are allowed.
