Santa Clarita Trail Race - May 1, 2027
The Santa Clarita Trail Race is a multi-format trail event held in Placerita Canyon, Santa Clarita, CA, with a race festival and start/finish at East Walker Ranch Open Space, 16723 Placerita Canyon Rd. The event offers distance races, fixed-time races, and team relays on looped trail routes through the golden hills of the canyon.

In addition to distance options, the event includes 6 hour and 12 hour fixed-time categories and relay teams of 2 or 4 runners. The course is built from three looped routes named ORANGE, YELLOW, and BLUE. Loop distances in the course design include ORANGE 3.3 miles (5.3K), YELLOW 5.02 miles (8.07K), and BLUE 1.2 miles (1.93K), with a combined ORANGE+YELLOW+BLUE option of 9.53 miles (15.31K). Elevation gain varies by distance, from about 310 feet for the shortest hike option up to 7,652 feet for the 60K.
Aid stations are placed on course and are stocked with water, electrolytes, snacks, fresh fruit, and ice; the race is cupless, so participants should bring their own cup, bottle, or hydration pack. Camping is available near the race festival with zones for tents, RVs, and car camping to support longer distances and relay teams. Published entry fees range from $40 to $200. Finish perks include collectible medals, official shirts, chip timed results, free race photos, and a finish line beverage for participants 21 and over.
