Salt Flats Endurance Runs
The event takes place April 30 to May 1, 2027 in Wendover, UT at the Bonneville Salt Flats Speedway. It offers multiple race distances on courses that use the salt flats, adjacent mud flats, and nearby terrain.
Distances include:
- 100 Miler
- 100K (106.5K)
- 50 Miler
- 50K
- 10K
- 5K
The courses leave the salt-speedway and run across the salt surface, then pass through about 13 miles of salt and three miles of mud flats before reaching the "Islands," mountain features that rise from the flats. The 50K route goes out to the No Post aid station at 15.5 miles and then reverses for an exact 50K. Longer distances include rolling hills with multiple significant climbs. The 100K and 100 Miler courses cross into Nevada along a historic emigrant route. All courses finish back at the start area.
Finish cutoffs are set as fixed durations for each distance: the 50K allows about 10 hours, the 50 Miler about 17 hours, the 100K about 23 hours, and the 100 Miler about 36 hours.
Organizers note that wet salt cannot be used due to BLM regulations. Pre-approved salt adjacent alternate courses are available for every distance and aid station distances do not change. Organizers also note that participants receive a tech shirt and bib for the 5K and 10K fun runs; the 5K began in 2021 and the 10K was added in 2026.
