About the race

Salomon Toboggan Run is a Backyard Ultra style event held on January 16, 2027 at 15 Station Road, Head of Saint Margarets Bay, Nova Scotia, Canada. The format allows up to ten hourly laps on a 5.8 km loop. Each lap must be completed within one hour; finishing a lap inside the hour permits the participant to rest until the next hourly start, while being over one hour ends that participant's race.

If multiple runners remain for the final lap there is a sprint finish to decide the winner. The course mixes surfaces and terrain with about 150 m of ascent and descent per lap: - 2 km rail trail - 1.8 km logging road - 1 km ATV trail - 1 km single track Organizers have rented the ATV clubhouse to provide indoor washrooms and shelter for clothing and food during the day. Registration includes a toboggan, eligibility for draw prizes, aid station food, hot chocolate and homemade cookies. Participants must be at least 18 years old. The event is a fundraiser for the St.

Margarets Bay Food Bank and for the Safety Minded ATV Association; participants are asked to bring a few non-perishable food items to donate. There are no refunds or deferrals except in connection with volunteering; transfers are allowed. Dogs are not permitted on the course.

Events have historically operated without provided disposable cups so participants should bring a drinking vessel. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
