RutFest - Richmond Ultra Trail Festival (sixth annual)
RutFest is a community-focused 36 hour trail event at Catamount Outdoor Family Center in Williston, Vermont. The event centers on two repeatable trail loops at Catamount: one on the north side of the property of about 3 miles, and one on the south side of about 4 miles. Participants may run or walk the loops repeatedly and check in at the main aid station to start laps; runners are asked to check in with a volunteer when leaving for safety reasons.
Entry is donation based and the organizers provide suggested donation amounts for the 36 hour event, including one bonus hour for Daylight Savings Time. Add-on donation options are available to give to particular organizations. All event profits are split 50/50 between Catamount Outdoor Family Center and Migrant Justice.
Catamount Outdoor Family Center manages over 400 acres of community forest and offers year-round outdoor recreation including mountain biking, hiking, trail running, snowshoeing, and cross-country skiing. Migrant Justice is an immigrant farmworker-led organization that advocates for farmworker rights and organizes campaigns to improve conditions in the dairy supply chain and for immigrant access to services.
Registered participants receive event updates by email. All participants are asked to sign up for a one hour volunteer shift at the aid station and to donate a snack for aid station use.
