About the race
The fifth annual Running with the Dogs is a community event in Kilgore, Texas that raises funds for the Kilgore Independent School District Education Foundation. The event is centered at the Dudley Road entrance of the Creekside Trail and includes a 5K fun run/walk and a separate 1K race for children in grades 3 through 5.

Entry options and fees listed by the organizer include a 5K fee of $30, a kids 1K fee of $12, and a Sleep in Supporter option for $20 that provides a swag bag and t-shirt without participating in the run. The organizer notes a $5 price increase for the 5K on September 18. Registration opens July 10; registration closing dates differ by entry type.
Packet pickup is scheduled for Friday, October 9 at MDT Fit, 1610 N US 259, with additional pickup available on race day. Prizes are awarded to the top three overall male and female finishers and to winners in the kids race. Funds from the event support district-wide programs and activities through the Kilgore ISD Education Foundation. Organizers request that attendees do not bring pets.
