Running with the Dogs
Running with the Dogs is the fifth annual community event in Kilgore that raises funds for the Kilgore Independent School District Education Foundation. The race course starts and finishes at the Dudley Road entrance of the Creekside Trail and includes on-course viewing areas where students and athletes may watch and cheer.
Event options and typical fees:
- 5K Fun Run/Walk
- 1K Kids Race (ages 3 to 5th grade)
Additional registration options include a Sleep in Supporter entry that does not require participation in the races. Published entry fees are $30 for the 5K, $12 for the kids 1K, and $20 for the Sleep in Supporter option. Packet pickup is available before race day at a local pickup location or on the morning of the event.
The event features a DJ and a Creekside Party after the run. Prizes are awarded for first through third overall male and female finishers and for winners of the kids race. Funds raised support the Education Foundation, whose mission is to endow and enhance the educational experience of students by providing financial support for district-wide programs and activities.
