Running Events Devon - Steam Challenge 2026
Running Events Devon stages the Steam Challenge on Sunday 30 August 2026 at a new venue in Bridestowe, EX20 4HF. The event is an 8 hour timed event run on an out-and-back route along an old disused train line. Each lap measures about 5.3 km on a mixed surface that is described as undulating, with both off-road and paved sections.
The organiser operates a "TUGG" system (Turn Up Get Going) that allows participants to start at any time during the organiser's permitted start window and complete as many laps as they can within the event time limit. Participants who complete one or more laps within the permitted time are recorded as finishers and may collect the event medal. If the event reaches capacity, later entrants will receive a bespoke medal chosen from those available on the day.
