Run or Hike for Palestine - Parys
This is a fundraiser walk, hike and trail run held at Koedoeslaagte Trail Park in the Vredefort Dome UNESCO World Heritage Site, about 12 km from Parys on the North West bank of the Vaal River. The event is organised by Imagine all the People and donates profits to Gift of the Givers to support humanitarian aid in Palestine.
Participants choose between two waymarked routes. The shorter route follows riverfront trails with shade and one notable climb. The longer route includes riverfront sections, flatlands and mountain terrain with a kloof-hike on the Skilpad Trail and views toward the Vredefort Dome and Koedoe Maintain at 1618 m. Medals are awarded to all finishers.

- 5 km Likkewaan/Rooikat Trail, 151 m elevation, medals to all finishers
Entry fees vary by distance and age category; a portion of each fee is allocated to Gift of the Givers. Late and race-day entries incur an additional fee. Venue amenities include a kiosk with food and drinks, a coffee cart, picnic benches, a swimming pool and toilets. The park features restored natural vegetation and purpose-built trails for hiking, trail running, mountain biking and paddling on the Vaal River.
