Run Your Outback Trail Festival
The Run Your Outback Trail Festival runs from 21 to 23 August 2026 at Robin Falls on the lands of the Kungarakan and Warai peoples. The festival combines multiple timed trail races across three days, camping and a central festival area with an aid station, first aid provision, music, a pool trough and communal campfires.
Events and distances include:
- Nocturnal Outback 7.3 km, age 13+, entry $48
- Sunshine Outback 7.25 km, age 11+, entry $38
- Big Outback 18 km, age 15+, entry $58
- Tots Outback ~1.35 km, age 5-11, entry $18
- Bigger Outback 28 km, age 18+, entry $78
- Biggest Outback 56 km, age 18+, entry $98
Two combined series are offered: KANGA (Friday 7 km, Saturday 7 km, Sunday 28 km) and DINGO (Friday 7 km, Saturday 18 km, Sunday 56 km), with set entry fees and overall rankings. Courses feature train lines, single track, rock sections, billabongs, hills, wallaby highways and firebreaks; some sections are technical and good traction on trail shoes is advised.
Mandatory gear for all events includes a collapsible cup, flask or drink bottle. A head torch is mandatory for the nocturnal race and recommended for the longest event. Water drops and a fully stocked aid station are placed on the 28 km route. All profits support Remote Outreach programs working with First Nations youth in remote Top End communities.
