Run the Wild Half Marathon - Autumn Edition
Run the Wild Half Marathon - Autumn Edition is a trail half marathon held in the Chiltern Hills, based at Church Farm Cafe, Aldbury. The route covers approximately 13 miles (21.1 km) with an ascent of around 300 m, running over undulating chalk hills and through local woods. The Autumn route differs slightly from the Spring route.
The event lasts around half a day and is limited to 50 spaces. Runners are grouped by ability and are led by local English Athletics qualified Run Leaders who provide trail technique instruction during the event. Participants should be able to run 10 km on the road in 90 minutes or less. Steeper sections are walked as needed. A well stocked refreshment point is provided just over halfway. A checkpoint and a finisher’s medal are included, and a Trees not Tees certificate is issued.
Facilities at the start location include a cafe, toilets and a bag drop, and on-site parking is available. The start is about a 15 minute walk from the station; rail connections and road access from London are noted in the event information. The event is dog friendly for runners using cani-cross equipment. Spectators are welcome and viewing locations are communicated in the final briefing.
